Praise the Lord

"While I live. I will praise the Lord: I will sing praises to my God while I have my being." Psalms 146:2

In studying Psalms today, the various writers came to one of the basic principles for living a balanced Christian life: We are to "Praise the Lord." When things are going great, we are quick to shout, "Praise the Lord." However, when we face difficult times, we tend to forget God's faithfulness. Where some people might be inclined to curse God for the trials or illness, we as Christian must decide to take the higher road. Our hearts must be filled with God's praises!

"Bless the Lord, oh my soul. And all that is within me. Bless His holy name. For He has done great things. He has done great things. He has done great things. Bless His holy name."

Seems like God is re-teaching this to a lot of us lately! :) I posted on Thanksgiving how grateful I am for the struggles of this past year, for where it has brought me in my relationship with God, but praising God in the midst of those struggles...well... I still have a ways to go, if I am perfectly honest. I like to think I am better at it than I am. Praise God that I see it though! He has opened my eyes. Yet one more thing to be grateful for! :) Thanks for the reminder!

Great post! May we say with Job, "Though He slay me, I will praise Him!"

Inspiring! It's easy to praise God when things are going well. It's in the face of trouble that we need to shout the loudest and know the trials will bring us higher.

I have so much to praise God for. What I have to remember is to be purposeful with it, and just as much, purposeful not to have a complaining spirit.
