Don't Let The Devil Steal Your Song!

In reading my morning devotion, I came across the following story (author unknown).

"Long ago, our family had a canary named Goldie who, one night, had a visitor name Mouse. This rascal, when all was dark and quiet, would run up the canary stand, get into the cage, steal the food, scamp over to the water and steal a drink and then run back down the stand. The canary stayed fast asleep.

Then I heard about another alleged robbery...Musicians are up in arms that their copyrighted music is being downloaded free from an Internet web site. People are stealing our music, they say, and Napster.com found itself in big trouble in the courts."

Now, you may not be a canary or a songbird of any kind, but sure as anything, God has put a song in yuour heart--and I know "someone" who is out to steal it. When you hear, in your spirit, the sound of trampling feet trying to get into YOUR CAGE or YOUR music box, wake up--and know that the enemy of your soul would love to stop the singing in your soul. He CAN'T stop it, unless you let him!

Tell the song-stealer to get lost--God has given you a song and the devil cannot stop the music while you're service the Lord! Believe it! Sing a NEW triumphant song to the Lord, loud and clear.

This is a fabulous way to look at the Devil. I love it. Thanks for sharing.

Why should the Devil have all the good music?"

Ginger, Loved this. The enemy wants his praise back and wants it all for himself. Well, he won't get any from me! My songs of praise continue no matter what! Thanks for this! Great post! Blessings...Lynn

All the devil knows how to do is steal, kill, and destroy. These activities make him seem scary, until we turn to his conqueror Christ who gave Himself up so that we could have abundant life now and for eternity. Christ put a song in my heart about the joy of salvation and no, I won't give it away.

Ginger, I so needed to hear this...as often as I've looked at the blogs on your page, I never saw this one until now. I am a songwriter but I sing too...however, I used to be a lead singer but something happened a LONG TIME AGO that built up a fear in me that I have not been able to let go of. I know that God has not given me a spirit of fear but I also know that He (God) wants me to be honest with my feelings. I will share my testimony regarding my story soon but until then, the fact of the matter is that all this time, I've allowed the enemy to keep me from fulfilling ALL of what God has planned for me. It's amazing to me that in the last 24-hours I have had several people tell me the same thing only in different ways. They all said that it was time for me to let go of that fear so that God's gift of song He placed in me as a child could once again be used to change lives. Yes, He could have easily given it to someone else but He loves me so much that He knew that I was the one He chose to do what needs to be done in a way that only I can. Thank you for confirming this as well! God Bless your faithfulness & obedience.
